Mississippi Dunes
After playing The Dunes most people either say "I love it!" or "I hate it!" Frankly, I think it has more to do with how the person played that day than it does with the course,
Mississippi Dunes is a fantastic golf course
but here is the bottom line: Mississippi Dunes is a fantastic golf course. It's an extremely challenging layout with long par 3s, some reachable-in-two par 5s, and a few brutish par 4s. And they all have some of the fastest, truest, most undulating greens of any public course in the state.

The tee shot at #1 really sets the stage for the rest of the course. A narrow fairway is flanked by the Mississippi River on the right and dense woods on the left. The tendency is to keep the ball dry, but wander close to the woods and you're blocked from attacking the green. On the back, #10 sets the tone: a 440 yard dogleg par 4 with a half-dozen pot bunkers lining both sides of the fairway. Avoid those and you're left with a long second into a well-protected, dome-like green. Brutal.

Here's the best part: either everyone else hates it or no one has discovered it, because it's very easy to get a tee time, even on weekends.
